Core24 Announces Appointment of New CEO, Randy Shaw, Formerly of Leading Technology Firm Acuity
DALLAS, Dec. 17, 2014 — Core24 announces the appointment of Randy Shaw, former principal for Acuity, as its new CEO to drive the young company’s growth and national expansion.
Founded to provide businesses with instant access to exceptional, hyper local business resources in areas typically outsourced, Core24 has spent the last five years vetting and establishing an experts network representing a variety of solutions in the Dallas market. Acuity was identified as the leading technology resource in Dallas by Core24 five years ago, and since that time, Core24 has served Acuity in increased local exposure, brand recognition and revenue growth.
“Randy is a proven leader with years of experience; incredible vision and a track record of executing highly successful strategies that drive growth, which is exactly what Core24 needs during our expansion into new markets,” said Sunny Nunan, Core24 founder and chairman. “I have had the distinct privilege of working with Randy as a client, and I have seen his passion and hunger for greatness firsthand, which I know will enable us to reach exciting new heights as we expand Core24.”
Founded on the core philosophy of being the trusted client advocate providing technology clarity for its clients, Acuity’s sole focus is to assist in designing and overseeing the best technology solutions for unique technology needs. In this way, Acuity and Core24’s business values and philosophies align, making this a highly productive and natural relationship over the years. These business principles have led to record growth for both companies.
“On behalf of the entire Acuity team, we offer our congratulations and support to Randy. He has been an invaluable member of our team and we know he will be great while leading Core24,” said David Haley, CEO of Acuity. “He will be missed, but we are all excited for Randy and thrilled to continue to work with and support one another as both organizations grow.”
“I joined Acuity over a decade ago and in that time, I have had the privilege to be a part of this growing and evolving company that I believe is the premier IT consulting firm in the United States,” said Shaw. “The decision to move to Core24 was difficult. This is a great opportunity to grow a really exciting business resource model nationally and bring this value to other local business markets. I will miss the daily interaction with my Acuity family, but remain excited to still be working together as Acuity continues as a member of Core24 and an expert in their field.”
Nunan will remain as chairman of Core24 while leading the national expansion of Core24’s sister company, The Admin Awards, as president and CEO. The Admin Awards is the first and only awards program of its kind in the country to publicly recognize administrative excellence and the invaluable contributions of administrative professionals. Launched in Dallas in 2012 and Fort Worth in 2014, the program will begin to expand nationally in 2015.

Randy Shaw comes to Core24 from Acuity, an independent technology consulting firm, where he was executive director and managing partner. Acuity has grown organically from four partners to a nationally recognized firm with a global footprint of clients including Chevron, Cisco, Raytheon, AMD, Fossil, Samsung and other leading companies and organizations across the commercial, health care, education and public sectors.
Randy is a native of New York and a graduate of Yale University. Upon graduation, he went on to fulfill his childhood dream of being a professional soccer player in Europe. Once he returned stateside, Randy’s first corporate position moved him to Dallas where he was the director of marketing and strategy for AMR Combs, a general aviation company and subsidiary of AMR, the parent company of American Airlines. He enjoyed great success and gained great experience in helping the firm grow, including two cooperatives that established a business presence in both Mexico and Hong Kong. The company growth culminated in the successful sale and divestiture of the company for AMR.
Randy then moved on to grow and diversify another technology firm in the software industry before teaming up with partners to grow Acuity to where it is today. He has spent almost two decades growing companies and driving revenue growth through diversification, mergers and acquisitions, and increasing market penetration through competitive positioning and strategies.
