Meet Local Veteran, Hero, and GQ Man Sam Brown And His New Mission- Allies In Service.
A recent article in GQ Magazine chronicled this local hero’s journey which began on his first tour in Afghanistan when Sam Brown, a 2006 West Point Graduate, was set on fire by an IED, severely burning his entire body. The piece journals Sam’s experience with a new treatment for pain that uses a painkilling video game which was more effective than morphine. Not only is the article fascinating, heartbreaking and heartwarming all rolled into one incredible piece, it’s also an intense reminder of the massive sacrifice our service men and women make for us. If it leaves you wondering how you can possibly pay back this huge debt like it did us, Sam can help your company figure that out.
As Director of Veteran and Family Support for Allies in Service, an organization founded by Roger Staubach, Sam is on a mission to help improve the quality of life for service members, returning veterans, their families and the families of the fallen. By connecting veterans to essential resources, mentoring and follow up, building awareness and encouraging community collaboration, Allies in Service strives to serve our warriors and their families, just as they have served us. Core24 is working on a partnership with Allies in Service that will help our veterans find jobs with local companies which is our small way of saying thank you. What’s yours?
