Miss Rachel Lee Meador Weds Mr. Charles William O’Connor
Miss Rachel Lee Meador and Mr. Charles William O’Connor were united in marriage on Saturday, October 20, 2012, at half past six o’clock in the evening at the Ruthe Jackson Center’s outdoor pavilion in Grand Prairie Texas. The double-ring sunset ceremony was officiated by the second cousin of the bride, Nathan Sheets, of Frisco, Texas. Pre-ceremony music was provided by Michael Feris of Austin, friend of the bride, and Alison Cooper, sister of the bride. The bride’s brother-in-law, Dr. Ben Cooper, played Canon in D on acoustic guitar for the procession of the bride. Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception in the Grand Ballroom of the Ruthe Jackson Center. Entertainment was provided by Randy Ro Entertainment.
On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents, Mrs. Martha Stafford and Mr. William O’Connor hosted a rehearsal dinner at Matt’s Rancho Martinez in Dallas. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Lee Meador of Taylor Lake Village, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Jeanne Erholm Meador and the late Mr. Lee Ira Meador and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Andrew Allen. The groom is the son of Mrs. Martha Stafford of Dallas, Texas and Mr. William O’Connor also of Dallas. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Albert Smith, Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Francis O’Connor .
Escorted was initially by Dr. Brook Zemel and then her father, Martin, and given in marriage by her parents. The bride wore a gown designed by Sottero and Midgley of simplistic elegance in Gossamer Chiffon, featuring a ruched bodice intersecting into a knotted detail at the side hip and center back. The slim A-line skirt was softly gathered and completed with a pewter rhinestone and pearl sash by Lazaro. She wore a finger-tip veil edged in rhinestones. She carried a bouquet of all white peonies, garden roses, ranunculus, and hydrangea. Attached to the bouquet were the bride’s maternal grandmother’s rhinestone and pearl brooch and earrings.
Leah Nelson of Houston served as Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were sisters of the bride, Christine Meador of Houston and Alison Cooper of Dallas; Blair Bell, Emily Simon, and Dawn Burkett all of Dallas; and Heather Hanawalt of Austin, Texas. They wore knee length one shoulder Alfred Sung dresses in atlantis blue peau de soie.
The bride’s nephew, Nolan Meador, was ring bearer. Her nephew, Micah Cooper, was honorary ring bearer. The groom’s niece, Adeline O’Connor, was the flower girl.
Members of the House Party included Sharon O’Connor, sister of the groom and Adrienne Bell, both of Dallas. Christopher O’Connor, brother of the groom, served as Best Man. Groomsmen were Rufus Bell, Drew Stanley, Andrew Schmeltz, Hunter Nauschutz, Dr. Matthew Simon, all of Dallas; and Brian Bosworth of Florida. The groom’s nephews, Oliver and Henry O’Connor served as ushers as did Joseph Feeley, Bobby Schmeltz, and Dr. Benjamin Cooper all of Dallas.
Rachel is a 2004 graduate of Clear Lake High School in Houston, Texas. She graduated from Texas Tech University in 2007 with a degree in Advertising and a minor in Creative Writing. She is currently the Director of Client Services for Core24 in Dallas. Charlie graduated from Jesuit College Preparatory School in Dallas and Texas Tech University in 2007 with a degree in Advertising and a minor in Spanish. He is currently a sales representative for Glazer’s Wholesale Distributors in Dallas.
Following their honeymoon to the Dominican Republic they now reside in Dallas with their beloved dog, Shiner. Charlie and Rachel wish to thank all their family and friends who were able to be a part of their celebration.
